Scalable 3 kW, 48 V / 12 V Bidirectional DC/DC Converter
This study of a 3 kW, 48 V/12 V DC-DC converter is based on a two-phase, interleaved buck/boost topology. Each phase operates at 185 kHz, has a 500 W capacity, and is equipped with back-to-back switches on both the 12 V and 48 V port. These switches protect against back conduction during UV conditions and allow phase sheding for higher efficiency in light load conditions. The converter has an automatic switching mechanism that allows it to switch between buck and boost modes, ensuring uninterrupted standalone operation. The converter's capacity can be easily scaled due to the modular approach.
