Switchgear has to open and close power connections across low, medium, and high voltage lines without ever risking a fault reaching the control side, especially during the fast transients a breaker trip or line fault produces. Vishay's VOW2611 optocouplers isolate control circuits from the switched voltage with 8000 V of transient protection. VO14642AT solid-state relays add fast, bounce-free switching with 5300 VRMS isolation. A breaker can trip hard and fast. The control side never has to know it happened.
