A mild hybrid integrated starter generator (ISG) must repeatedly switch high currents at 48 V to start the engine, recuperate braking energy, and provide torque assist, all while fitting within the tight space underhood as well as thermal budgets.
Vishay's power MOSFETs and power modules drive high efficiency three-phase ISG motor stages with PWM switching frequencies as high as 20 kHz. Our DC-Link film and aluminum electrolytic capacitors and low inductance current sensing resistors handle the rapid, high current switching the ISG inverter demands, while Automotive Grade optocouplers provide isolated feedback between the 48 V power stage and control logic.
