Electric turbochargers integrate a 48 V electric motor onto the turbocharger shaft, enabling instantaneous compressor spool-up at low engine RPM and eliminating turbo lag. The application requires power electronics that can drive high frequency motor currents under thermal challenges from the turbocharger housing.
Vishay's power MOSFETs and MOSFET power modules deliver the fast switching the e-turbo motor drive needs, while our current sensing resistors and thermistors provide the precise current and temperature feedback. Automotive Grade capacitors and inductors filter and stabilize the drive electronics in this compact, thermally demanding application.
